2023 Estate Owl's Peak Chardonnay
This is our debut Coplan Vineyards estate Chardonnay from our 2019 planted block of Hyde Wente and Dijon clone vines. Sophisticated bouquet of magnolia blossoms, peach tea, and lemon custard with meringue brûlée. In the mouth, notes of lemon zest and minerality while being supple and easy to drink. The finish has good palate length with citrus and jasmine notes. This wine will age well due to its innate acidity. Only 98 cases produced
2019 Coplan Bliss Hill Cabernet Sauvignon
LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY. Only ten cases of this Coplan Vineyards estate Cabernet Sauvignon label were produced under a special project with Inconnu wines, making this label our smallest production ever. A feminine expression of Cabernet Sauvignon at only 12.5% alcohol. The nose has black cherries, subtle hints of cedar and tobacco. The palate reveals a full-bodied wine with velvety tannins and balanced acidity, dark fruits, including black cherry and cassis, dark chocolate and a hint of baking spices. The wine shows excellent structure and complexity, with a long, satisfying finish.
2018 Owl's Perch Pinot Noir
Sold Out. This is our debut release of Pinot Noir and it's exceptional. SILVER medal winner - 2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
We sourced fruit from one of McEvoy Ranch’s organic Petaluma Gap vineyards. The nose is full of raspberries and cream. On the palate, the toasted oak spices mingle brilliantly with the smooth, elegant tannins of Pinot Noir, while the flavors of cherry brandy wash across your mouth. This is a fruit-forward wine with refreshing acidity. The native fermentation brings viscosity and roundness to the mid-palate.
- Native fermentation
- Only 100 cases made
- 30% New Oak
- heirloom Wadenswil clone Pinot Noir
2018 Barrel Select Pinot Noir
Our debut Barrel Select Pinot Noir will wow you with its sumptuous nose. GOLD medal winner - 2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
We selected a special barrel of clone 2A (Wedenswil) to showcase this clone’s extraordinary focus and pure Pinot Noir exceptionalism. The nose opens up with orange blossom honey and fragrant heirloom plums. In the mouth, you will experience a taste of cherry cream pie with a flaky pastry crust. While this wine rested in 50% new oak over 15 months, the fruit and oak are exquisitely integrated. This is the definition of a reserve quality Pinot Noir - one clone, one site, great vintage.

2018 Chairman Red Blend
The 2018 Coplan Sonoma Valley Red Wine Blend lives up to its namesake, The Chairman, with aromas of cigar box, Cognac, and tobacco. DOUBLE GOLD medal winner - 2021 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. We are JUST NOW RELEASING THIS FOR SALE on December 14, 2021.
We blended our estate-grown, old vines Cabernet Sauvignon with Wildwood Ranch Merlot, bringing the feminine into the boardroom, with notes of roses, potpourri, and oolong tea. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is estate fruit which includes some of Sonoma’s oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines, dating back to the 1940s. The refined and elegant structure of this wine can be attributed to the wisdom of these vines, and the imbued resilience within each vine as it adapted to its micro-climate. It’s not an accident that this wine is perfectly balanced, rich, fruitful, and full of flavor. A befitting tribute to the proprietor’s father.
- Only 125 cases made
- 40% New Oak
- 14.6% alcohol
- Farmed at 1 1/2 ton per acre/ ultra low yielding, high quality old vines
2014 Cabernet Sauvignon "Resonate"
The 2014 Coplan Resonate Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted in a classic Bordeaux style. It was grown in our cool microclimate within Sonoma Valley, and picked early before any dimpling of the fruit, preserving its natural acidity. In the mouth, flavors of black currants and toasted oak are carried across the palate with delicate tannins. A hint of graphite on the palate gives this wine a long finish, and reminds you of the terroir supporting these very old Cabernet Sauvignon vines. It will resonate with you long after each sip is gone.
- Farmed at 1 1/2 ton per acre
- Only 75 cases made
- 40% New Oak
- 14.8% alcohol
Estate Olive Oil (Extra Virgin) 250ML
We planted thirty olive trees at Coplan Vineyards in 2013, hand selecting a Mediterranean mix of baby Frantoia, Leccino, Manzanilla and Coratina trees. Today we have 105 trees, as we planted Mission and more Mediterranean varietals in 2020. It’s thrilling to see the trees grow each year, evolving through the seasons and filling our wine country landscape. The 2023 growing conditions were ideal. No hail or heavy rains occurred during the delicate flowering stage when the trees are most vulnerable. After careful fertilization, watering and attention to the orchard, we harvested 2,036 pounds of our 100% estate olives. The fruit was hand-picked and milled less than a mile away from Coplan Vineyards, as the crow flies. The math of producing olive oil from the fruit is fascinating. We produced a priceless 22.5 gallons of extra virgin olive oil. We harvested early, so the beneficial antioxidants are sky high in this bright, unfiltered “olio nuovo” liquid gold. This exceptionally limited production is only 192 bottles, probably making this the smallest commercial production of olive oil in Sonoma Valley. You’re treated to a complex taste profile that you won’t find with other larger productions, with notes of arugula and wild flowers and a spicy finish.

2015 Chardonnay
The 2015 Coplan Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is a true Chablis-style Chardonnay. And it's my first real foray into the world of producing ultra small lot artisan Chardonnay. NOT so small for my wine storage company to discover 25 cases that went unnoticed. It has just a hint of oak supporting a nose full of flint, beeswax, and citrus aromas. The palate has the freshness of green apples, a taste from the partial malolactic fermentation, and uplifting natural acidity with lemon cream, giving it the ability to age gracefully like its Chablis cousins. Don’t underestimate a mature white wine; the evolution of flavors will inspire you to broaden your appreciation of the depth and character gained over time. This is a food-friendly wine which will stand up to complex flavors and refresh your palate with every sip. Drink now through 2027, as you would a Premier Cru Chablis.
2017 Chardonnay "Harpsichord"
The 2017 Coplan Harpsichord Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is our first barrel-fermented selection, aged on its lees, and completely through malolactic fermentation. The tropical nose is of ripe pineapple at peak sweetness, followed by lychee fruit and fragrant white petals (think of the Victoria box trees that line the streets of San Francisco). On the palate you will find crème brulee and vanilla bean flavors creating a rich, smooth finish.
2015 Red Blend "The Chairman"
We aptly named the 2015 Coplan Sonoma Valley Red Wine Blend ‘The Chairman’ because it initially presents with aromas of cigar box, brandy and tobacco leaf. On the palate, you will find rosehip potpourri, layered with roasted oolong tea and fine-grain tannin, living up to its old-world Bordeaux charm. It will draw you in for a closer inspection of the hibiscus balsamic reduction that lingers across the finish as you contemplate the influence of Merlot with the old vine Cabernet Sauvignon from our historic, old vines vineyard.
