2018 Chairman Red Blend
The 2018 Coplan Sonoma Valley Red Wine Blend lives up to its namesake, The Chairman, with aromas of cigar box, Cognac, and tobacco. DOUBLE GOLD medal winner - San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. We blended our estate-grown, old-vine Cabernet Sauvignon with Wildwood Ranch Merlot in our only two-vineyard (single AVA) blend. Notes of roses, potpourri, and oolong tea. Our Cabernet Sauvignon is estate fruit which includes some of Sonoma’s oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines, dating back to the 1940s. The refined and elegant structure of this wine can be attributed to the wisdom of these vines, and the imbued resilience within each vine as it adapted to its micro-climate. It’s not an accident that this wine is perfectly balanced, rich, fruitful, and full of flavor. A befitting tribute to the proprietor’s father.
